Summertime Sadness Is Real. Are You Experiencing Symptoms?

We're always told to look forward to carefree summer days, but for some, the lack of structure can begin to feel a bit aimless. Work may slow down, people leave town, daily routines may get discarded.

This lack of consistency, coupled with the heat, can be overwhelming. Anxiety can creep in when trying to decide what to do with all of your free time, when friends may be traveling or going to endless summer events.

Remember, daily rituals create support when feeling uncertain of what to do. When you have clearly defined personal routines, your brain does not have to "figure out what to do" with your time. This is just one reason why implementing daily rituals is a must.

You can go your own way--it's not just a song lyric. You have permission to do you. If you want to spend time alone reading--do it. If you need to clean and re-organize your closet--get it done. Accomplishing these "basic" tasks will give you a sense of accomplishment. Serotonin--check!
